Worn: three purples in one run — deep Brazilian amethyst, mid-tone Zambian amethyst and a lilac kunzite that goes almost clear — with one small cluster of dark beads as the only break in the pattern.
All beads are 12mm, so the colour is doing the work rather than the size. The gradient is set by stone, not by dye: each shade comes from a different source, which is why the transition is gradual instead of striped. A cluster of six or seven smaller dark beads sits at one point on the band, like a knot in the run.
Specs: 12mm beads throughout · Brazilian amethyst · Zambian amethyst · kunzite · 17cm (6.7in) full length, measured flat and unstretched — not the inner circumference · elastic cord, no clasp · fits wrists up to 18cm (7in).

Kunzite was named after George Kunz, the Tiffany gemmologist who identified it in 1902 — it is one of the few stones named after a person.
